If there’s one thing that defines me, it’s that I love a good adventure. No matter where I am though, I always find myself talking about one of the most unforgettable chapters of my life, being a snowboard instructor in Alberta, Canada.
I love to travel. I’ve lived in Canada briefly, Dubai twice, a stint in Singapore, and back in the UK during the pandemic. I’ve ticked off visiting 30+ countries over the last decade and I have Whistler and Japan at the top of my favourites list to see some of the best snow in the world.
So yes, if I wasn’t in recruitment, I would probably be a snowboarding bum living in Canada. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so anything that is fast-paced and fitness-driven, sign me up. Snowboarding, motocross, wakeboarding, Hyrox…golf (the anomoly), the list goes on.
And lastly, when I’m passionate about something, I won’t shut up about it. Which leads us very nicely onto the business segment of ‘Meet Jack’.
“Jack, I’m launching Aspexx, you want in?”
When Pete reached out to me with the proposition for aspexx, I was in the Mallorca visiting family for the summer wondering what my next move was going to be! It took me less than a minute to say ‘yes, let’s do it mate’ and that was that. Over three years on and we haven’t looked back.
In hindsight, it was inevitable I’d end up here at aspexx and based in the UAE. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with some of the best creative, design and digital agencies globally during my career. But now I get to do it on my own terms with inspiring people and doing it in the melting pot of Dubai is exciting.
I’m pretty fortunate that Pete and I share the same values and vision for aspexx too. We saw a gap in the market for experience-led, design-driven recruitment that was honest, quality and connected to the best in the industry. So we went for it.
Three years in and now we’re partnered with some of the best brands and design consultancies across Asia, the Middle East, & Europe, helping to attract the right talent and grow teams globally.
Having the autonomy to try something new. The freedom to travel for work and play. Ultimately that’s what helps me tick both personally and professionally.
So to wrap up, as you can probably tell I’m not really one for comfort zones and that hopefully comes through in helping me connect people and companies together with ambitious opportunities. Excited to see what 2025 brings for aspexx and the team.
