Despite its reputation for sky scrapers, mega projects and all things bling. Dubai has some incredible communities and serene work locations to provide the perfect break from city life and a chance to zone out to your work or just discover something new.

So to help you find your perfect work spot, or just to zone out somewhere new, Jack, Pete and the Aspexx team give their top choices to help you get started in your remote working adventure. Check out our top 5 below.

Al Serkal Avenue

NightJar’s outside benches are a hotspot for remote creatives.

Al Serkal has steadily become a cultural powerhouse in Dubai. Gradually evolving over 10+ years, it’s a hotspot for everything from the cities best coffee shops, working hubs and creative companies. There’s a vinyl record store, sneaker stores, a vintage cinema and of course the awesome food vans. Our go to spot is Night Jar coffees outside benches, which are always great to be around other cool people and enjoy the outdoors (in the cooler months of course).

Gareth’s recommendation is chilling out on the beanbags at The Flipside record store whilst listening to the various albums being played. For a more unique working experience, check our Napa Dori Cafe, a relaxing space to work and enjoy the hand made leather products.

The Courtyard

The charming alley way at the Courtyard.

Directly across the street from Al Serkal you will find The Courtyard. A charming hideaway with flowing fountains, art stores, coffee shops and acting theatre called The Playhouse. This place is a true hidden gem that’s a joy to spend the afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of typical Dubai life. Our recommendation is Boston Lane Coffee. They do great sandwiches and there’s always a really nice crowd of people quietly getting on with their day.

If sitting in a beautiful street in Spain is your jam, then this is the place for you.

Jones The Grocer – West Beach Palm

Enjoy the breeze at West Beach.

If it’s a more beach front vibe you’re looking for then it doesn’t get much better than Jones the Grocer on Palm Jumeirah’s West Beach. It’s a common meeting spot for us as it’s great to get away from the main lands busy roads and enjoy the breeze. If it’s the summer months, they have some great indoor seating so it’s still a solid option from May through to September.

More so, there’s ample spacing and parking (just make sure you avoid weekends) and should you decide to get your weekend started early… they’re fully licensed for alcohol so it’s a great place to enjoy a beer / wine with friends and family.

Nasab

A stunning, modern space to work from.

‘A private haven of workspaces, curating a community of entrepreneurs, game changers and culture shapers’. Nasab is a stunning place to work and one we always try to get to when in that part of town (Al Barari). It’s open plan design has been done to the highest standards so you’re sure to impress on any client meeting. As a member you get full access to the facility which even includes a gym and swimming pool. Highly recommended.

Dubai Design District

The happening streets of D3 and One Life Cafe.

D3 as it’s commonly known has been here for nearly 10 years now and became fully established as a centre for art, retail, education and community. It’s home Dubai’s design university and has a fantastic selection of places to eat and work. Our 2 favourites are One Life Kitchen & Cafe, which is always bustling with activity and has some great owners always cooking up great food and drinks. If you’re hungry, also check out Yui which is one of the cities best ramen spots and incredibly popular with the local Emirati community on a weekend.

For music, sneaker and fashion fans… D3 also hosts perhaps Dubai’s coolest event, Sole DXB. Which has risen to be the go to event of the year for many.
